Chain of Custody Certification

Copap passed its certification audits by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). This guarantees its customers a rigorous traceability process from supply chain beginning to end. This accreditation by two important international certification groups embodies Copap’s commitment to responsible environmental practices. It also testifies to Copap’s vision of the changes that the industry must embrace in order to cope with environmental challenges.

FSC Certification

FSC-C103504 The FSC is an international, membership-based, non-profit organization that supports environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests. Established in 1993, FSC is a certification system that provides internationally recognized standard-setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services to companies, organizations and communities interested in responsible forestry. The FSC label provides a credible link between responsible production and consumption of forest products, enabling consumers and businesses to make purchasing decisions that benefit people and the environment as well as providing ongoing business value. Forest management certification involves the inspection of a forest management unit by an independent FSC-accredited certification body. If the forest complies with FSC standards, it is issued a certificate. Companies and consumers can then be assured that forest products containing certified wood come from a responsibly managed forest. There is also a certification process for all manufacturers and producers along the supply chain, called Chain of Custody certification.

PEFC Certification

PEFC-certification Founded in 1999 in Europe, the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes (PEFC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that supports sustainable forest management globally. Formed for the assessment and mutual recognition of national forest certification schemes, PEFC supports sustainable forest management in an effort to ensure respect for the economic, environmental and social uses of forests. PEFC certification is currently recognized on every continent, under a wide-ranging system of independent verification that guarantees that products bearing the PEFC label come from responsibly and sustainably managed forests.
